Looney
Tunes: Back In Action
written by Micah Ian Wright & Jay Lender
7000 lines of dialog featuring every single major (and many minor) Looney Tunes character!
From France to the Antartic to the depths of the Jungle, the Looney Tunes gang goes on
an Epic Adventure.
"May 08, 2003 - The console
world has been devoid of Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck for far too long; or at least, Electronic
Arts sure seems to think so. For proof, look no further than the upcoming Warner Bros.
Interactive and EA's joint project, Looney Tunes: Back in Action ; a brand-new, single-player
platformer that will allow players to swap between two of the most popular cartoon personalities
of all time in a tribute to their upcoming movie.
Teaming up to find the mysterious Blue
Monkey Diamond, Bugs and Daffy both will have their own unique set of special skills and
abilities as they partake in the planet's biggest scavenger hunt. Racing from stage to
stage, the pair's interim goal is to collect as many playing cards and ACME gadgets as
possible so that when combined, the trinkets can lead them to the whereabouts of the ancient
artifact. In all, the game will include six separate environments inspired by the feature
film, and take Bugs and Daffy to such lavish locations as Area 52 and the deep jungles
of Africa. Of course, the rest of the Looney Tunes squad will make appearances as well,
and gamers can look forward to seeing the likes of Yosemite Sam, the Tasmanian Devil, Elmer
Fudd, and Wile E. Coyote.
Unfortunately, details surrounding the
play mechanics are on hold until the game makes its debut on the show floor at E3 next
week. Though we've discovered that Bugs and Daffy both will have multiple skills and powers,
such as the ability to change costumes to escape danger, burrow tunnels underground, and
flatten themselves to avoid being squashed. Also coming in handy will be the ACME goodies
mentioned earlier, which allow the twosome to perform such Matrix -like maneuvers as "Bullet
Time" when drinking the essence of Road Runner or super speed when Daffy grabs the
right item. Other power-ups include the ACME Electro Magnet, Eggbert's Eggs, Pepe Le Pew's
Stink Bomb, and the Tornado Kit.
Headed for Nintendo GameCube, Game Boy
Advance, and PlayStation 2 this fall, Looney Tunes: Back in Action may have potential to
move beyond it's younger audiences. |
